An Amazing Phuket Resort

To hear more about Thailand visit: Thailand Part I & Everything you want is a dream away

Take a look into my favorite resort to date: The Baray Villa at Sawasdee Village in Phuket, Thailand.
Wanna hear a goofy tale? I actually planned this vacation around staying at this resort. Of course, I loved Thailand and its culture but I didn’t know much about it. I saw a picture of this resort on social media a year before I went. I immediately took a screenshot, kept it in a special folder in my phone, stared at it everyday, fell deeply in love, and figured out a way to visit this paradise. Mijo had always wanted to go to Thailand but we weren’t sure if it was safe. Both of us had only been around North America and Europe and the far east was definitely different from our previously western tours. We did a lot of research then booked our flights in February of 2016.Let me tell you, those three months before leaving- we had a lot of time to freak each other with google news stories. But in the end, everything turned out smashingly, we had not one problem the whole trip. So, let’s talk about resorts baby. Sawasdee Village is located in Kata Beach, Karon, Phuket. It gets the highest ratings on every main travel site because it’s truly fit for a King (and/or Queen) and the layout is extremely unique. For some reason, we had the resort basically to ourselves the days we stayed there. That means we had a private 200 meter long pool and swim up bar.  And we definitely took advantage of them both. The first day, Mijo and I order a pina colada and somehow, they gave us three big coconuts full! We also got shrimp and rice and tom kha soup and they were both served in halved pineapples. This resort satisfies every one of the senses. It has amazing, world renowned food (a MUST try is their mango sticky rice). Your eyes can always find a hidden treasure from the plentiful ancient, Thai decor.  Sweet aromas fill the air from the hibiscus and jade trees and incense burning at the many Buddhist offering altars. The resort is extremely quiet besides from the many waterfall fixtures and built in creeks. And lastly, what feels better than warm sun and a refreshing pool?!The resort itself is a masterpiece but the Baray Villas are what make this resort truly exceptional. We stayed in the Aries villa (purposefully for this aries babe? :)) The villa is a private two story bungalow which includes: both an outdoor and indoor tower shower, a California king bed, foot baths, a huge stone bath basin, and a living room. There’s a balcony in the bedroom that overlooks your indoor pool, which then leads to your private outdoor pool, which then leads to the swim-up bar/ 200 meter long pool. It was almost too luxurious, but it wasn’t because I loved every minute.
Here are some of the pictures of our stay:
